June 7 SF Election
— The June 7 Primary election: Progressives (almost) control DCCC, Jane Kim wins
— Election results June 24, 2016 — Reform slate, Jane Kim win!
SF Dept of Elections results June 24:
Jane Kim beat Scott Wiener by 669 votes overall (by 1,516 votes in San Francisco) in the State Senate District 11 race. Pre-election estimates were that Wiener would win by double-digits — way to go, Jane!
The Reform Slate owns DCCC! Won 15 of 24 open seats, almost enough to control the 31-seat SF Democratic Party County Central Committee. Some in the opposition (Mary Jung / Real Estate slate) spent up to $100K and did not win, e.g. Josh Arce and Marjan Philhour. Reform Slate candidates and supporters ran a successful grassroots campaign!
