This total lunar eclipse will be the most accessible to anyone living in North or South America. On January 20, the moon will slide into Earth’s shadow and turn orange-ish red. In Northern California the eclipse starts at 8:41pm and ends 9:43pm.

Urban Forestry Council meeting

The Urban Forestry Council advises city departments, including the Board of Supervisors and the mayor. Its tasks are to develop a comprehensive urban forest plan; educate the public; develop tree-care standards; identify funding needs, staffing needs, and opportunities for urban forest programs; secure adequate resources for urban forest programs; facilitate coordination of tree-management responsibilities among agencies; and report on the state of the urban forest.
The Urban Forestry Council meets on the fourth Friday in January, March, May and September at 8:30 a.m. in City Hall, Room 400; the fourth Tuesday in February, June, August and October at 6:00 p.m. in City Hall, Room 416; the second Friday in December at 8:30 a.m. in City Hall, Room 400. City Hall is located at 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA 94102.
The Planning and Funding Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month starting at 4:00 p.m. with the exception of November. There will not be a meeting in November. The Committee meets at the Planning Department Offices, 1650 Mission Street, Room 400, San Francisco, 94103.
The Landmark Tree Ad Hoc Committee meets as needed on the first Thursday of the month starting at 4:15 p.m. in City Hall, Room 421. City Hall is located at 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA 94102.
