June 13, 2016 Progressives win big, DCCC mischief Weds, Peskin talks elections

Wed, Jun 15, 7pm DCCC meeting, could be high drama!
State Office Building, 455 Golden Gate Ave, Milton Marks Auditorium View the agenda
Mary Jung in her final meeting as chair will attempt some lame-duck moves such as endorsing Fall Supervisor candidates and changing the composition of DCCC in the bylaws. The early endorsement ploy seems to have fizzled already, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the bylaws change is off the table by Wednesday. The meeting is open to the public. For the latest developments stay tuned to 48hills.org.
Tim Redmond nails it in 48hills Fri, Jun 10:
It’s almost as if the DCCC is some old-school dictatorship where the corrupt incumbents who get ousted at the ballot refuse to leave office. Message to Mary Jung: To quote President Obama, elections matter. You lost.
Sun, Jun 19, 5pm Aaron Peskin talks about the elections
North Beach Bauhaus, 703 Columbus @Filbert
He will discuss results of the Jun 7 Primary and look ahead to the Nov 8 General Election where 6 supervisor seats are up for grabs.
Fall vote shaping up to be anything but a snoozer, SF Chron Jun 11. Primary results and fall look-ahead.
Petition to Mayor Lee and BOS President London Breed: Reappoint Cindy Wu to the Planning Commission
Cindy Wu is a thoughtful and hard-working incumbent Commissioner. Sign the petition today. The appointment will be made by June 30.
— Election results June 13, 2016 — Reform slate winning, Jane Kim close in State Senate race
SF Dept of Elections results as of late Monday, June 13:
Jane Kim trails Scott Wiener by only 0.54% out of 224K ballots cast in the State Senate District 11 race. Pre-election estimates were that Wiener would win by double-digits — way to go, Jane!
The Reform Slate owns DCCC! The Reform Slate candidates won 15 of 24 open seats and will control the SF Democratic Party. Some in the opposition (Mary Jung / Real Estate slate) spent up to $100K and did not win, e.g. Josh Arce and Marjan Philhour. Reform Slate candidates and supporters ran a successful grassroots campaign.
